How to Carry your Small Business Through the Slow Winter Season

It’s only January and that means winter is just getting started. With cold temperatures and short days, winter might be a hard time of year for your business. So what do you do to keep those customers coming in? We’re here to shed some light on how to stay afloat and avoid declining revenue during the slow season.

Add Additional Services.

With the cold weather and snow, customers might avoid making the trip to your business and decide to stay home instead. The winter season makes a perfect time to run deals, or add additional services to get your customers out of their homes and into your business. Although depending on your industry, this may be hard; adding a new service may bring in the profit you need to make it through the winter.

Grow Your Customer Base:

“SHOW YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU ARE A FORWARD-THINKING COMPANY AND BE SURE TO SHARE THE EXCITEMENT OF YOUR PLANS ”

Winter is the perfect time to update your email list, and check in on your clients. Don’t forget that the quiet months are the perfect time to search for new clients. Check out local networking events, and grow your contact list. You can also ask trusted customers for referrals, customers acquired through referrals have a 37% higher retention rate and 81% of consumers are more likely to engage with brands that have reward programs.

Use Your 2019 Goals to Showcase what may be “Coming in 2020.”

Get your customers excited about what the new year is bringing for your business. Show them you are a forward thinking company and be sure to share the excitement of your plans for 2020. Share photos and updates to your social media accounts to keep your customers on their toes and excited to be a part of what you’re doing this year.

Winter is a hard season for everyone, stay positive and focus on what’s ahead. We’re rooting for you and are here to help!
